Pastor Doug “returned home” to Redwood Chapel to become Senior Pastor in
January 2007, where he began his vocational ministry as Pastor to
Students in 1976.
During the past 30 years Doug has served in various ministry and
pastoral roles with Redwood Chapel, Fremont Community Church and most
recently, as Executive Director of the National Network of Youth
Ministries based in San Diego. After receiving his liberal arts
education from Cal State Hayward, Doug earned a B.A. in Bible Theology
from Moody Bible Institute (1978), and continues in seminary education.
Practical/Biblical theology, community engagement and leadership
development are three of Pastor Doug’s highest values in pastoral
ministry.
Doug
is joyfully married to Leisa and together the Tegners have four young
adult children. In his free time, Doug enjoys daytrips to San Francisco
with Leisa, reading Puritan and modern classics, working on “the ranch,”
and listening to worship music on his iPod.
