WHO WE ARE

We are couples (many with school age children) focused on equipping and encouraging each other in our commitment to Christ by applying His truth to the challenges in our lives.

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS

Are the pressures of the world overwhelming? Do you need a place to find like-minded families that are committed to living a Christian life? The pressures on families today are extreme and our focus is on equipping and encouraging families to face these challenges.

MISSION

The purpose of New Horizons is to bring greater glory to God by assisting in the healthy spiritual growth of the families entrusted to our care. Our focus is on:

  • Sharing accurate, thorough, and practical teaching from God's word, the Bible.
  • Providing many opportunities to develop caring friendships with other committed Christian couples and their families.
  • Helping each other in times of difficulty or challenge.
  • Support and encouragement in living out our faith in the Lord.
  • Caring people to pray with and for you about your concerns.
  • Seeking to welcome and nurture new families into our fellowship.

MINISTRIES

  • Teaching
    • Current Series:  Heroes of the Faith
    • Future and Former Series Include such topics as:
      • Books of the Bible and how to apply them to our lives
      • Topical studies applying God's word to: Marriage, Parenting, touching our town for Christ, ...
  • 2008 Socials 
    • Frequent socials to get to know each other better so we can better fellowship and serve one another.
    • Socials varying including activities targeted for the whole family, just couples, just women, just men, ...
    • Tentative list of upcoming 2007 socials include
      • July:        Woodminster Amphitheater musical (7 Brides for 7 Bothers)
      • Next:         Family Camping Trip
    • 4x4 dinners are in progress (dinners in homes in groups of 4 couples).
  • Prayer
    • We share prayer requests and praises each Sunday
    • We also have a prayer chain and special prayer events
    • Have a prayer request? Let us know.
  • Missions
    • Our class has adopted one of the Church's missionary families and strive to support and encourage them.
    • Stay informed about other mission opportunities and needs
  • Service
    • Many members of New Horizons serve God though both ministries within the Church and the community.
