Ambassadors

We are a class of age 50 plus adults who enjoy fellowship and the study of God’s Word along with books about His Word.

Our class is blessed with four teachers: Our leader is Pastor to the Adults, Pastor Jon Drury. Following him is retired missionary from Japan, Pastor Bob Pitney. Dave Sutton and Carl Phillips fill in the rest of the team. This gives us quite a variety of teaching styles and answers to everyone's need in learning.

We have activities for fellowship once a month, evenings filled with food, games, and trips to various places around the bay. We have pot-lucks dinners, formal dinners, ice cream socials, trips to the little theater, boat trips out on the bay, to name a few.

Each year we have a class retreat at Casa de Fruita, a spot in the Pacheco Pass area which has facilities for camping, motor homes, motel rooms, and many attractions such as fruit stand, small train rides, candy and ice cream store, swimming pool, etc. There we enjoy each others company, get better acquainted and listen to guest speakers who motivate us to know God a little better.

Out of this fellowship has grown the desire to minister to others. We began with a ministry to the Family Emergency Shelter Coalition in Hayward known as FESCO. Each year we provide shoes boxes filled with personal hygiene items, because many of these people are forced the leave their homes with virtually nothing but the clothes on their backs.

We have also provided Christmas packages to the children of prison inmates.

Also Bibles for persecuted Christians and support for a missionary family.

We believe in taking care of our own and thus also have a ministry with-in the class family as we visit and bring food to those who are in hospitals or homebound.

And in keeping with God’s command to feed the hungry we serve at the Hayward Salvation Army once a month where we sing, preach, and serve food.

We meet in the choir room on the second floor of the sanctuary at 10:30am.

We love meeting new people so come join us for refreshments and a time of fellowship and study.
