Awards
Clubbers excelling in the
Awana Clubs can earn a variety of colorful, high quality awards. These
awards vary from club to club but most include rank insignias,
achievement awards for club attendance, crafts, Bible drills, Sunday
School attendance, book completion ribbons, plaques, and trophies!
Redwood Chapel is pleased to pay for the awards for each clubber who
excels by earning the various awards available! We will strive to
present clubber’s awards the night they earn them. Parents are always
welcome on these occasions!

What does a clubber do at Awana?
Each week registration/check-in will begin at 6:40 PM in the Williams
Chapel. In order to be considerate of our AWANA leaders and their
families, we ask that if you do arrive early that you stay with your
children until 6:40 PM. When you pick up your clubbers (K-6th
grades) in their rooms at the end of club,
8:30 PM, we request that you be punctual. For your children’s safety and
everyone’s peace of mind, please don’t ask children to meet you at your
car. Children not picked up by 8:35 PM will be taken to the AWANA / CE
office. Because Wednesday is a school night, we need to be faithful in
ending promptly at 8:30 and having your child picked up promptly as
well.
Each club is designed to meet the unique needs of that particular age
group and thus the exact schedule and activities vary from club to club
and from week to week. This year we are piloting a special AWANA club
for our pre-teen students in grades 5-6 called “AWNA 56!” Though the
major components of the club will be the same as the other clubs, each
will be a version tailor-made with specific needs and challenges they
face during these vital “bridging” years in view. The three basic
components in which each club will participate for approximately 20
minutes are as follows:
GAME TIME
(20 minutes)
Game
time is an exciting time of fun and friendly competition among children
of the same age group. All children are expected to participate in the
games unless a parent communicates otherwise with a leader. Playing in
skirts, dresses or sandals ( and other non-athletic shoes) can be
difficult, so please dress your child in something that will allow them
to play freely.
HANDBOOK
TIME
(20minutes)
During
Handbook time, a small group meets with a leader and/or a listener to
study and complete various sections and tests from their handbooks. Each
clubber is encouraged to complete two sections per week (preferably even
more) to complete their books within the club year.
COUNCIL
TIME
(20 minutes)
All
clubbers meet in their various club groups during Council Time. On some
occasions they will meet in larger groups for special all-club
presentations. Council Time is for singing, testimonies, a special Bible
message, and award presentations.
